In Iowa, the American
Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees represents
40,000 public employees including law enforcement and correctional
officers, home health care and child care providers, firefighters,
mental health workers, professional school staff, emergency
responders, and many other workers.

On a daily basis, our members
are working to improve the quality of life in our schools,
neighborhoods, communities, and for our families.

Our six Districts organize efforts between our local unions, train and educate our
volunteer leaders, provide representation and bargaining support to
our members, and coordinate legislative activities.
