INDIVIDUAL HOME CARE PROVIDERS

AFSCME Iowa Council 61, LOCAL 1100

In the Near Future

3% Raise for Providers, Retroactive to July 1, 2006

The raise has passed both a federal and state approval process. DHS is in the process now of calculating the providers retroactive raises and a separate check will be issued to the providers affected. All current CDAC providers will receive a 3% raise, not to exceed the maximum hourly rate or the maximum daily rate. Look to your mailbox around November 2007 for a letter from DHS explaining the details of the raise.

AFSCME Iowa Council 61 Local 1100 Dues Deduction

DHS and AFSCME have been working diligently to get your union dues directly withdrawn from your check.  We are close to the final details being resolved. We hope to achieve success no later than the years end.  Dues will be 2% of your monthly income with $15.00 minimum and a $35.00 maximum.

Universal Logging Forms

DHS will implement a Universal Logging Form in the near future, so all providers have the same logging system. AFSCME Iowa Council 61 Local 1100 Elected Committee Members have been involved in the review process. It is our hope once all the details are finalized and members learn how the logging form is to be filled out, members will appreciate the Universal Logging System that will meet any Audit conducted.

Bargaining the 2nd Memorandum of Understanding

Soon our newly elected Local 1100 Bargaining Team will be meeting with DHS to bargain a 2nd Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Proposals have been submitted from members around the state and the members at Chapter Meetings voted on the proposals to be presented.
