We’re
Working with DHS to Improve Child Care Policies
Family child care
providers successfully completed our first-ever union negotiations with the
Department of Human Services! |
 |
In negotiations, an
elected team of providers, representing every region of the state, met with top DHS officials to voice our concerns with the current child
care system.
In a series of
meetings, the negotiating team worked to reach an agreement with DHS
that makes real improvements. |
|
Last fall, providers
elected our first negotiating team.

here to see a list
of negotiating team members, and their contact
information. |

Based on surveys and
conversations with providers, the negotiating team created a list of
proposed improvements, and submitted it to the State. It includes, for
example |
-
A Bill of Rights for
Child Care Providers
-
Review and Revision
of the QRS with Provider Input
-
