A Seat at the Table in State Pre-K Planning

A new law creates a state-funded, voluntary preschool program in selected school districts. Districts that want to participate must submit an application, laying out the details of their plan. School districts can choose to partner with qualified private preschool programs in their communities, as part of their application. However, teachers must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a teaching license

  • Inclusion of registered home-based child care providers in decisions
  • Ability of home-based providers to provide Pre-K services and receive funding
