A Bill of Rights for Child Care Providers

The right to be treated as professionals
The right to prompt notification of changes in rules, policies, payments and programs
The right to be treated with courtesy and respect during visits and inspections
The right to be informed of the nature of a visit by an evaluator, and to require the evaluator to provide photo ID, contact information, and supervisor information
Right to due process, representation, and impartial arbitration to correct unfair decisions, without fear of retaliation
Right to full investigation and finding of “valid” before any action taken against a provider
The right to access a forum to voice concerns and be heard prior to any changes in state law or rules which would impact child development homes
